Despite what I’ve said on my blog thus far, I am still learning how to be a solo sojourner…
Have you ever been the person that stays put, while everyone else leaves? Well that’s what I’m experiencing right now. & I’m learning how to cope.

These four humans I’m hugging in this photo, have all spread out across the country to go back to university. I’m still here… Working. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I’m still working & making money, but I can’t help feeling slightly abandoned.
I am an independent person & I always have been. I’m comfortable spending time by myself but I do not like feeling alone.
Well today, when I finally got fed up with feeling sorry for myself, I set out for a walk on the first day of sunshine we’d had for about 3 days.

“Our sunny spot”
After a lovely stroll down main street, some minor pokes from the thistles leading down to the beach and some hopping over the boulders… I found “our sunny spot”. The title of the name may or may not be explained in future blog posts. Regardless, that is what this spot is called.
Almost a totally isolated area on the beach, there is only a few houses visible in this spot. I’ve got my eyes on the cute yellow one for a potential summer cabin…
From this spot, there is a 180˚ view of natural beauty. The soundtrack of this spot was purely the sounds of the ocean tides creeping in.
& it was here, that I finally found some peace in myself.
It takes a lot for me to get out of a lonely slump. But if I want to be a solo sojourner, then I should probably get used to it, right? There’s no use feeling alone in this world, especially when that’s the last thing I should be feeling.

Feeling peaceful – but powerful
After a bit of sun on your face, some of your favourite music & the music of the ocean, you finally start to feel like yourself again. At least I did.
After a bit of soul searching, I finally felt like I had the strength to move on & conquer this world… A time in my life I’ve been waiting for, for a very long time. These next 6 months are going to be thrilling, nerve-wracking, overwhelming, exciting and so much more. I bet it’ll blow by, & I bet I’ll wonder what I had to be scared of in the first place…
But I finally feel ready. So bring it on, world.
